This year’s membership renewal season marked an important milestone for ACSA. For the first time, districts and members completed renewals using our new online process and district payment portal, a significant step in modernizing how we serve our members.
Change of this scale requires partnership. From district business offices and human resources teams to payroll staff, charter leaders, volunteers, and ACSA employees, countless individuals worked together to make this transition successful. Their willingness to embrace a new process, and their patience as we learned together, made all the difference.
We’re also proud to share that 97 percent of our Regular members, who are the backbone of ACSA, committed to renewing their membership for the 2026-27 year. That remarkable level of commitment speaks volumes about the value members place on the professional community, advocacy, leadership development, legal support, and connections that ACSA provides.
“Implementing a new statewide renewal process is never about the technology, but about people working together toward a common goal,” said ACSA Deputy Executive Director Margarita Cuizon-Armelino. “I’m incredibly grateful to our district partners, our members, and our staff for embracing this new process with such collaboration and commitment. This is a significant milestone for ACSA, one we could not have accomplished without working together.”
Behind the scenes, this achievement was supported by months of planning, testing, and collaboration across the organization. ACSA extends its appreciation to Director of Enterprise Project Management Laina Durbin, whose leadership helped guide the implementation of the new renewal process and district payment portal. Working alongside teams across ACSA and our technology partners, Durbin helped coordinate the many moving pieces required to bring this important initiative to life.
While the renewal commitment phase is complete, our work continues. The next step is collecting district payments and completing the renewal cycle for the new membership year.
As with any major system implementation, we’ve learned valuable lessons that will help us continue improving the experience for members and districts alike. But thanks to the flexibility, cooperation, and partnership of everyone involved, ACSA has successfully completed the first — and perhaps the most significant — milestone of this transformation.
