ACSA leaders have elected Rafael Plascencia as their Vice President for the 2022-23 school year.
Plascencia is director of Personnel Services in Tustin USD, Region 17.
He was elected by ACSA delegates representing each region during Leadership Assembly, held May 12 in Ontario. Delegates had two candidates to choose from: Plascencia and Cali Binks, superintendent of Yucaipa-Calimesa JUSD in Region 12.
It was the first in-person election held since 2019. As was done during virtual elections in 2020 and 2021, voting was conducted using the online platform Election Runner.
The executive board for 2022-23 will be made up of Vice President Plascencia, President-elect Parvin Ahmadi, President Erin M. Simon, Past-president Charlie Hoffman, and Vice President for Legislative Action Gina Potter. This executive board will officially take office July 1.
