The National Coalition on Education Equity, the California Association of African American Superintendents and Administrators, Learning Policy Institute, the Spencer Foundation, and the College Board will jointly co-sponsor a national conference on “Establishing a National Agenda to Fulfill the Promise of Brown.”
This conference will take place May 22-24 in Washington, D.C., at the Westin Hotel Washington DC-Downtown. Many of the nation’s leading experts on equity and education will serve as conference speakers, workshop presenters and panelists.
Conference participants will not only hear from the leading equity researchers, but they will also participate in dynamic workshops examining the state of African American education — 70 years following the Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision.
The conference will culminate with a conversation on developing a national agenda on how to address issues related to education equity for African American K-12 students and other students of color, as well as the unfulfilled promise of Brown.
Information on the presenters, the interactive panel discussions, and a synopsis of the other planned conference events can be found online, along with where to register and to make hotel reservations, at www.ncoee.org.
