ACSA at 50 | Charter member: David Davini

“I am a Charter Member of ACSA and have been active since its inception 50 years ago. Now at age 81, I am still active in Region 2 and at the state level. In 1970, I was a new member of the Sutter County Superintendent of Schools staff and as a program coordinator in three counties, I saw ACSA developing and was asked to get involved. I immediately got involved in program planning, networking, in-service activities and leadership tasks. These proved critical to my success. ACSA gave me an employment edge. It made me better informed, higher skilled and a valuable member of my management team.
"Before retiring in 2000, I worked hard to develop the concept of retired member charters within each region of ACSA. Region 2 Retired Leaders & Managers Charter has become one of the most active retired charters in the state. I also advocated to add retired members as a job-alike category for Administrator of the Year awards. Public education needs ACSA now more than ever. We fight hard for the best interests of students while representing and protecting the vital interests of professional leaders in all job-alikes. Stay active and continue supporting ACSA — it’s the right thing to do!”
