When Gilbert Lievanos arrived at Hillside High, he was in danger of not graduating. Faced with a challenging childhood and a lack of motivation at his old school, he transferred to Hillside High, a credit recovery school for struggling students. But Gilbert found much more than that thanks to the small school environment filled with supportive educators. On June 8, Gilbert accomplished his goal when he earned his diploma from Hillside High. He already has a new goal in his sights as he plans to pursue a career in engineering.
