12th grade, Los Alamitos High, Los Alamitos USD

Angelina Riegelhuth grew up in the shadows of addiction, loss, and instability, but she was determined to break the cycle. She spent years in and out of shelters, skipped entire grades of school, and took on adult responsibilities while still a child. Her strength is matched only by her love for her younger sister, Raquel, who became her reason to keep going. At Los Alamitos High, Angelina found stability, mentorship, and purpose. She became a leader in technical theater, a voice for inclusion, and a fierce advocate for others. Angelina graduated in June and plans to become a psychologist for women and children coming out of abusive situations and homelessness.
“Anything I can do to make the world just a little bit better helps me sleep better at night and helps me get out of bed in the morning.”
