Christinie Spears’ childhood was filled with immense loss. She suffered through the deaths of both her father and mother. And in October 2020, her older brother, Nicholas, passed away in a car crash. But Christinie would not allow these tragedies to define her life. She wants to make her family proud and uses their memories to keep moving forward. Christinie plans to attend UC Berkeley in the fall and major in psychology. She wants to become a clinical psychologist so she can help young teens and adolescents who do not have the best support systems. She sees this profession as a calling.
