12th Grade, Union Mine High, El Dorado Union HSD
For the first five years of her life, Anna Schifferle faced constant change as she moved through the foster care system before being adopted with her siblings. In her new home she found stability, and in school she found purpose. Through Friday Night Live, Anna turned her past into advocacy, leading efforts to prevent youth substance use and mentoring classmates with compassion and strength. Her story is one of gratitude and growth, proof that resilience can evolve into service. This fall, Anna will attend UC Santa Cruz, pursuing her dream of becoming a child advocacy attorney.
“I would say 100 percent there's so much gratitude towards my past, because without my past, I wouldn't be the person I am today.”
