Reem Rahmaoui is the product of two countries and two unique cultures. She was born in San Francisco but moved to Morocco at an early age. Reem lived with her grandparents in what she described as a close-knit community. In 2017, she returned to the United States but struggled adjusting to her new life. One year later, Reem’s father died from a heart attack. But with the help of her mother and her school community, Reem persevered through her tragic loss. She plans to honor her father’s memory by becoming a surgeon.
