Aliya Guzman does not announce herself. She never has. In a crowded room, she is the one you might miss at first — quiet, reserved, steady. And yet, when she steps onto the field as drum major, her voice rises. Clear. Commanding. Certain. It’s a beautiful dichotomy. Raised through instability and personal hardship, Aliya learned early how to carry more than most. The challenges demanded resilience and strength. She never let them define her, only refine her, shaping a quiet confidence rooted in purpose. Aliya Guzman graduated from Channel Islands High School in June and plans to pursue a career in forensic psychology.
“I never really saw what I went through as something that needs to hold me back from everything that I could accomplish.”
