The California Department of Education’s Early Education Division will be hosting virtual office hours on Wednesday afternoons targeted for LEAs to ask questions and receive technical assistance about Universal PreKindergarten implementation.
The first 15 minutes will be a quick review of UPK and the latest developments. Registration will be limited to 500 participants per session and will be open to all regions of California. Registration for each week’s office hours will open the Friday before each Wednesday’s event.
The CDE has posted resources for UPK on the CDE Elementary web page, including information from the previous UPK webinars and the first round of guidance to use in planning for UPK implementation. The Universal PreKindergarten Planning and Implementation Guidance document is meant to support LEAs in the development of their Universal PreKindergarten Plan for consideration by the LEA’s governing board or body at a public meeting on or before June 30, 2022.
Upcoming UPK Office Hour sessions will be held from 4-5 p.m. on the following dates:
• April 20 • April 27 • May 4 • May 11 • May 18 • May 25
To register, visit the CDE Universal PreKindergarten Office Hours web page at www.cde.ca.gov/ci/gs/em/upkofficehours.asp.
