Join California classified leaders at ACSA CEL Institute
Virtual event offers PD for school leaders in roles like maintenance, IT and fiscal
January 25, 2021
The premier professional learning event for classified leaders in California, ACSA’s CEL Institute is scheduled for Feb. 24-25, 2021.
“This two-day institute is the only statewide professional development event specifically designed for classified educational leaders,” said ACSA Classified Educational Leaders President Sylvia Alvarez. “This is the time for classified leaders to gather virtually to share information and learn about current issues and trends that will assist you in serving students.”
The CEL Institute is a virtual event designed for educational leaders in business/fiscal services, human resources/personnel, maintenance/operations/custodial, technology, facilities, student services/instructional including confidential and administrative assistants.
“During the live portion of the event, attendees will be able to participate in discussions, network with peers and engage with presenters using our dynamic conference platform,” Alvarez said. “Plus, you’ll be able to view dozens of on-demand sessions to enhance your knowledge on topics important to your specific role.”
In addition to numerous sessions, attendees will experience keynote presentations from two engaging speakers.
Motivational speaker, author and “Greatness Coach” Kevin Bracy will inspire attendees to see the greatness within themselves. Bracy has delivered thousands of presentations ranging from high school gymnasiums packed wall to wall with students to closing keynotes at corporate sales rallies at AT&T Park. Bracy has written two books (and co-authored six) on a variety of subjects, including leadership, motivation, greatness, achievement and change. In 2014, Bracy created the REACH One Alliance following a request from a school district to help shift school climate, increase student engagement and decrease bullying on campuses. For a generation of youth, Bracy is known as Coach Greatness because he recognizes and cultivates the greatness within them through this program, which encourages students to perform acts of kindness seven days a week.
Enthusiastic and always authentic, Dr. Joelle Hood motivates education leaders to find a different way of “BEing.” Hood has served 25 years in the field of education as a teacher, assistant principal, principal and consultant, as well as serving as a success coach to individuals and organizations outside of education. She holds a doctorate degree in Organizational Change and Leadership, and her dissertation focused on teacher well-being. Driven by her desire to influence, inspire and ignite humans to become the best possible version of themselves, Hood has helped schools and leaders transform their organizations through the power of social emotional learning, mindfulness, positive psychology, emotional intelligence and social psychology. To change the world for the better, she says, first we must make ourselves better.
The 2021 CEL Institute promises opportunities to:
Learn, grow and be happier. Professional development improves your life, both in and out of the office. With new skills and insights in your mental toolkit, you will find yourself with new confidence to face challenges.
Gain valuable and marketable skills. You can learn about topics at PD events that you would not otherwise have access to, or even the time to research.
Invest in relationships. If you invest in your peers and make sure that they can rely on you in turn, then your network will become a well of opportunities, stronger conversations and new ideas.
