The next generation of school leaders will soon be taking charge at school sites up and down the state. Make sure they
are supported in their first two years on the job with ACSA’s Clear Administrative Credential Program.
HR administrators and other leaders in charge of leadership development can let new administrators know they can clear their preliminary credential through ACSA’s program, which is now accepting applications through Sept. 14.
ACSA is the largest provider of coaching, professional development and assessment for attaining the Clear Administrative Services Credential, the second phase of preparation for education leaders in California. ACSA’s innovative induction program is considered the gold standard throughout the state.
The heart of the program is job-embedded coaching provided by certified ACSA Leadership Coaches. Coaches are highly trained and experienced leaders who empower individuals to reach their full potential throughout the candidate’s two-year induction period.
Candidates may now submit a request for a specific leadership coach. This is usually someone from within their district who is already familiar with the candidate and the district’s goals and vision for school leadership success.
The induction program design and implementation provide support and guidance grounded in the California Professional Standards for Education Leaders (CPSEL) in the three designated areas: coaching, professional development and assessment. ACSA also provides candidates with CPSEL Seminars — guest speakers who focus on one of the six professional standards — so that they can earn some of the 40 hours of professional development that is required as part of their induction.
ACSA Credentialing and Coaching Services Director Dr. Tamerin Tooker said one of the defining strengths of ACSA’s program is its commitment to individualized, job-embedded support that goes beyond compliance and focuses on real growth.
“Great leadership isn’t developed in isolation — it’s built through reflection, feedback and real-time support,” Tooker said. “Our program ensures new administrators are not just completing requirements, but developing the confidence and skills needed to lead effectively in their unique school contexts.”
Tooker added that the program’s flexibility allows candidates to engage in professional learning that is meaningful and directly aligned to their needs and goals.
“No two leadership journeys are the same, and our program is intentionally designed to reflect that,” she said. “Through one-on-one coaching and a range of professional learning opportunities, candidates are able to focus on the areas that will have the greatest impact on their schools, staff and students.”
