New online meeting formats bring ACSA Academies to you

July 27, 2020
ACSA is excited to announce the 2020-21 Academy program will offer options to minimize interruptions due to the coronavirus, allowing administrators to stay on the fast track to their next career.
Out of an abundance of caution, and with the utmost concern for the safety of our members, all Academies will begin in a virtual/online format and continue as such during the fall and winter. Locations originally scheduled in a blended/hybrid format will not meet in-person until local prevailing COVID-19 mitigation measures may permit meeting safely in-person in spring 2021. The virtual/online Academies present a special opportunity for administrators from anywhere in the state to attend the sessions virtually — without the constraints of geography.  Academies offer 70 to 100 hours of job-embedded professional learning for administrators who are new or aspiring to advanced leadership positions. The academies are designed and delivered by ACSA members for ACSA members. Learning is driven by distinguished ACSA member experts, in collaboration with featured partners, who lead and engage participants in building a solid foundation in the application of leadership and management fundamentals supported by extensive materials, resources, and extended professional networking. Academies are available in the following 10 leadership specializations:
  • Access and Equity for English Learners
  • Co-Administrators Academy
  • Curriculum and Instructional Leaders Academy
  • Equity Administrators Academy
  • Personnel Administrators Academy
  • Principals Academy
  • Pupil Services Academy
  • School Business Academy
  • Special Education Academy
  • Superintendents Academy
Innovations include a brand new Co-Administrators Academy and the redesigned (virtual/online) Access and Equity for English Learners Academy.  The Curriculum and Instructional Leaders Academy will feature a new digital learning session in its Meeting the Needs of 21st Century Learners sequence. The Principals Academy has increased to 80 hours to include social emotional learning and expand leadership in challenging times.

The virtual/online Academies present a special opportunity for administrators from anywhere in the state to attend the sessions.
ACSA is excited to continue to advance its strategic plan for expanding online learning by hosting the Academies on the ACSA Online Learning Center, ACSA’s new Learning Management System powered by Thought Industries. Participants will experience the equivalent of 10 hours of professional learning per Academy weekend as a combination of weekend online presentations and interim preparatory or follow-up activities that will incorporate learning features available through the LMS. Complete 2020-21 Academy Program information and registration is at www.acsa.org/academies. Registration fees will be the same price for all locations of each leadership specialization and will be payable in three consecutive monthly installments with a credit card.
