CTC seeks to fill vacancies on credential committee
The Commission on Teacher Credentialing is seeking applications to fill a vacancy for the Elementary Teacher and Public Member positions and all alternate positions on the Committee of Credentials. The applications and more information about the work of the committee can be found at www.ctc.ca.gov/educator-discipline/committee-of-credentials. The final filing date for applications is August 5, 2022.
Leadership seeks articles for mental health issue
Leadership magazine is seeking submissions for its November/December 2022 issue with the theme “Mental Health.” Topics include student wellness; SEL; behavioral health; CTE pathways for mental health careers; clinicians in schools; classroom implementation; training; pandemic effects on mental health; staff burnout/mental wellness; and suicide prevention and trainings. Articles should be at least 750 words and include practical information written in an informal style. Email your article to Senior Director of Marketing and Communications Naj Alikhan. Find Leadership online at leadership.acsa.org. The submission deadline is August 8, 2022.
Chatbot shares COVID-19 vaccine information
The California Department of Public Health has unveiled new Spanish- and English-language WhatsApp chatbot tools that give up-to-date information about the safety of vaccines and how to book vaccination appointments. The chatbot is free to all and can be accessed by scanning a QR code or texting “hola” to 833-422-1090. Find more information and the QR code at www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/OPA/Pages/NR22-077.aspx.
