Physical Fitness Test will be required in 2022
The 2021–22 Physical Fitness Test has not been suspended. Local Educational Agencies will be required to administer the Physical Fitness Test during one of these months in 2022: February, March, April or May. The CDE, along with external partners, is working to prepare additional instructions on the PFT. More information and instructions will be provided as they become available. The 2019–20 and 2020–21 PFTs were suspended; makeup testing is not required. The PFT exemptions for students who did not take the test in grade nine (those current 10th and 11th grade students) are limited to those exemptions identified in Education Code sections 51241 and 51242.
