Gabriela Bernal Ramirez is a champion for mental health. Born in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico, Gabriela was surrounded by a loving and supporting family. Then at the age of 7, she moved to the United States. The transition proved challenging as she faced language barriers in a community where she did not know anyone. Anxiety and depression shadowed Gabriela’s life as she struggled to adapt to her new surroundings. Kinney Continuation High School became her sanctuary as she learned self-improvement and the importance of mental health. In May, Gabriela graduated from high school with stellar grades. She plans to attend Folsom Lake College with the hopes of pursuing a career in real estate.
