Mid-State Conference will be March 10-12
The 8th annual ACSA Mid-State Conference is scheduled for March 10-12 at the San Luis Obispo Embassy Suites. The theme of the conference is “Navigating the Waters of School Leadership.” The conference, hosted by ACSA Regions 9, 10, 11 and 13, will present dynamic keynote speakers as well as exciting breakout sessions.
The opening session on Friday night will begin with a keynote presentation by nationally recognized author Donya Ball, Ed.D., speaking on lessons from her new book, “Adjusting the Sails: Weathering the Storms of Administrative Leadership!” Ball is a district superintendent in California. For over 20 years, she has been a change maker in public education, leading staff to inspire students to reach their full potential in preparation for life beyond the classroom. Ball also serves as program advisor and professor for graduate level administrative credential programs.
Ball will also be the featured presenter for the pre-conference from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Pre-conference attendees will also receive a copy of her new book.
On Saturday, there will be four rounds of breakout sessions on topics including gender identity, post-pandemic impact and strategies, boosting student and staff morale, developing a shared vision, numerous legal topics, distributive leadership, UTK and more. The Saturday general session will feature a live, in-person version of ACSA’s Legislative Lunch Break. The panel will be discussing current legislative issues and governmental relations.
Sunday morning will feature a panel discussion on equity with representatives from affinity associations CALSA, CAAASA and CAAPLE.
Registration includes dinner on Friday night as well as Saturday’s lunch. The conference will also include exciting exhibitors and door prizes. The cost for ACSA members to attend is $249, and a conference/pre-conference bundle costs $299. To register, go to tinyurl.com/35vx4vbv.
