R7: Close to 800 attend annual classified dinner
ACSA Region 7 held its annual CEL Fall Dinner on Oct. 19 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Modesto.
There were approximately 780 attendees — the largest crowd to date — at this professional development event designed to celebrate classified leaders and support staff for their hard work and dedication to public education.
Districts are known for bringing pom poms and noise makers to let their presence be known during this lively event.
Attendees heard from father and son Avery and Brian Baker on “The Power of You and All That You Do!” As father and son and business partners, their story was an example that no matter what happens in your relationship if you’re willing to examine yourself, be adaptable to change and maintain a positive outlook, things can always get better.

R19: Region salutes veterans in newsletter

In recognition of Veterans Day, Region 19 President Gary Reller recently saluted the region’s ACSA members who have also served in the U.S. military.
A survey was sent out to the region to find members who are veterans. Twelve ACSA members who responded were recognized in an e-mail blast to Region 19 membership that also included their branch of the military and years of service.
“I consider it an honor to be included in this list of individuals, and I extend my personal gratitude to all veterans,” said Reller, who served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps.
