R14: Student stars celebrated at LA Galaxy’s field
On Feb. 28, ACSA Region 14 hosted their Every Student Succeeding Awards at the Dignity Health Sports Park, home of Major League Soccer’s LA Galaxy.
Fifteen students were recognized for overcoming the odds and achieving success. Each student received a Chromebook, tickets to a Galaxy game in June and more Galaxy swag, including a backpack.
Region 14 would like to thank the sponsors of the event: Lakeshore, NWEA, DigiCoach and the LA Galaxy.

R5: Administrator of the Year recipients announced
ACSA Region 5 has announced its 2023 Administrator of the Year awards. Congratulations to the following recipients.
Elementary Principal: Amanda Driscoll, San Mateo-Foster City School District. Middle School Principal: Armen Sedrakian, San Francisco Unified School District. High School Principal: Pam Duszynski, San Mateo Union HSD. Technology: Solomon Hill, Ravenswood City School District. Business Services: Patrick Gaffney, San Mateo-Foster City School District. Student Services: Suzi Riley, San Mateo-Foster City School District. Curriculum and Instruction: Ching-Pei Hu, Belmont-Redwood Shores School District. Valuing Diversity: Jeanette Ramirez, Principal, Fiesta International School, San Mateo-Foster City School District. Special Education: Maggie Michels, San Francisco Unified School District. Central Office: Jason Hannon, San Francisco Unified School District. Superintendent: Shawnterra Moore, South San Francisco Unified School District. George Hurley Service Award: Monica Nagy, ACSA State Board Representative/Region 5 Treasurer.
Region 5 is also celebrating two Every Student Succeeding Award winners: Reem Rahmaoui, Lowell High School, San Francisco USD (ACSA State honoree for Region 5) and Haniteli Ngaluafe, Capuchino High School, San Mateo Union HSD (San Mateo Charter honoree).
