R16: Region holds Cultural Proficiency Conference
ACSA Region 16 hosted their first Cultural Proficiency Conference on March 27 at the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles.
The conference was the brainchild of Region 16 Cultural Proficiency Director Simone Charles and Region 16 Special Events Coordinator Angel J. Barrett.
In August 2021, the Region 16 Executive Board voted to add three board positions to reflect the Board’s values: Cultural Proficiency, Women in Leadership (Sandra Escartin) and Communications (Maria Manzo).
Region 16 held its first Cultural Proficiency Conference on March 27.

In addition to the winners listed below, Region 12 hopes to fete its first-ever recipient of the Dr. Margaret Hill Social Justice Award (TBA) at its region Spring Celebration Awards Dinner on May 2, 2022 at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario.

R15: Thompson chosen as district Woman of the Year
State Sen. Susan Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) has named Maria Thompson as Woman of the Year in the education subcategory for Senate District 22.
