San Bernardino and Riverside hold joint supts meeting
San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools takes great pride in maintaining its significant and indispensable collaboration with the Riverside County Office of Education.
Recently, SBCSS hosted the Joint District Superintendents’ Meeting at the Roy C Hill Education Center in San Bernardino, bringing together district superintendents from across the Inland Empire. Attendees included San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Ted Alejandre, Riverside County Superintendent of Schools Edwin Gomez and an impressive gathering of nearly 40 superintendents representing various districts throughout the region.
The Joint Districts Superintendents’ Meeting serves as a valuable platform for networking and learning. Participants had the privilege of engaging with esteemed education experts, including Ashish Vaidya, president and CEO of Growing Inland Achievement; Tracy Chambers, assistant superintendent of Education Support Services of SBCSS; Bonita Coleman, a leadership coach from Studer Education; and Christi Barrett, superintendent of Hemet Unified School District. Barrett and Coleman delved into insightful discussions about the leadership strategies being employed to bolster the capabilities of every leader. They emphasized the importance of overcoming challenges at the grassroots level and striving to enhance overall outcomes. To complement these discussions, attendees were gifted a copy of the book, “Hardwiring Excellence in Education – The Nine Principles Framework,” authored by Janet Pilcher.
“Overseeing more than 825,000 students combined, SBCSS and RCOE recognize the immense responsibility and reach both of our counties hold in the realm of education,” Alejandre said. “We understand the transformative power of collaboration and believe that by working together, we can achieve incredible outcomes and elevate the success for our students and the broader Inland Empire Community.”
The Joint District Superintendents’ Meeting is an annual event, with hosting duties alternating between the two county offices of education.
Leaders from San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools (Region 12) and Riverside County Office of Education (Region 19) recently participated in an annual Joint Districts Superintendents’ Meeting.
