On June 28 and 29, ACSA Region 1 held its annual retreat at the Mt. Shasta Resort. New board members were welcomed as they joined returning members to plan for the upcoming year. Several speakers attended including Mindy Fattig, Humboldt-Del Norte County SELPA director, who presented the latest information from CDE and budget/legislative updates for students with disabilities.  ACSA Executive Director Wes Smith was also able to attend, highlighting the Strategic Plan and how Region 1’s plan coordinates and supports ACSA’s state plan. In addition, Tim Taylor from the California Small School Districts’ Association shared hot topics and concerns related to rural and small school districts within Region 1.
