Schools throughout the state are helping students cope with the horrific images coming from Ukraine following Russia’s invasion of the sovereign nation on Feb. 24.
Southern California World History teacher Kathryn Greene has helped answer students’ questions about the invasion and used it as an opportunity to study the refugee crisis and have students practice their media literacy skills, according to a recent EdWeek article.
San Diego County Office of Education has compiled a resource with lesson plans to help students understand the historical context of the conflict. It also contains social-emotional health resources to help students process what they see and hear in a healthy and safe manner.
