State Board of Education Connection is a new, bimonthly virtual meeting where ACSA members can learn about upcoming State Board of Education agenda items and provide feedback to ACSA advocates on how issues impact educators in the field.
Meetings are a chance to provide input on items going before the state board and to help mold ACSA’s advocacy efforts. All ACSA members are invited to participate, especially those with expertise in California’s accountability system (e.g., Dashboard, DASS, LCAP and SARC).
“[We] invite all members to help us shape our positions on items before the State Board of Education.”

“The pandemic has brought with it a lot of challenges, but a silver lining has been the use of virtual platforms. It has allowed ACSA to connect with a greater number of members and improve our advocacy efforts,” said ACSA Legislative Advocate Diana Vu, who is facilitating the meetings. “We are now expanding our reach to invite all members to help us shape our positions on items before the State Board of Education.”
Meetings are at noon on Tuesdays the week before the State Board’s bimonthly meeting. Meetings in 2022 will be Jan. 4, March 1, May 10, July 5, Sept. 6 and Oct. 25.
