If you made a resolution to work on your professional development in 2022, ACSA’s Online Learning Center has several courses that will help you become a more effective school leader.
With minimal cost and time commitment, you’ll be able to hone your skills on specific topics or chart a path to your next big career move. Best of all, these online courses come to you — attend from your office or your living room. Many courses can also be completed on-demand (i.e. when you have a rare free evening on your calendar).

Climbing the Education Leadership Ladder
Ready to move up in the new year? Head to ACSA’s Online Learning Center to check out two new courses on climbing the educational leadership ladder from UMASS Global Doctoral program professor Dr. Marilou Ryder.
How to Prepare for Your Next Job in Educational Leadership: This session on March 9 will help you nail your next interview, build your job seeking skills and gain confidence as you prepare for upcoming career opportunities. Dr. Ryder will teach you the subtle art of self-promotion, how to prepare for a high-stakes interview, and tips for developing your professional brand.
The Wow Factor for Women — The Make it or Break it Factor for Moving Ahead in Your Career: This session on March 16 will help you learn why you’re not getting ahead in your career. Being educated and having a resume packed with stunning accomplishments isn’t enough — you may need to hone in on personal traits to enhance your confidence and power in the workplace.
When: 3-5 p.m. March 9 and March 16

Preparing for the Future of Education On-Demand Series
This series of four courses focuses on different aspects to guide the future of education for district and site leaders. Over five hours of professional development is presented in an on-demand format to be viewed at your convenience.
Ready for Anything: Rethinking Systems to Future Proof Learning: This workshop is designed to help school leaders pursue a “better normal” in our post-COVID world. Learn strategies to future-proof learning around coherence and re-imagined systems.
The Way We Were: Honor Tradition, Imagine the Future: In this session, learn to use improvement science strategies to improve equity and student access to education. Strategies discussed will include: restorative practices, trauma-informed care, alternatives to suspension, mindfulness, socio-emotional screening and learning, and interconnected systems frameworks.
Diversify Your Bookshelves: Are you looking to incorporate culturally diverse texts into your school’s curriculum? This on-demand course taught by leading experts in the field will guide administrators on how to start this process to introduce students to read and write using diverse texts. Sources of recommended book lists will be provided as well.
System-wide Coherence-making: Integrating Leadership & Instructional Coaching for Results: In this course, learn how leaders can strategically partner with instructional coaches to develop a comprehensive and coherent coaching program that generates buy-in and focuses on student-centered results.

Master Scheduling Workshop
The complexities of building today’s master schedule in both middle school and high school can be overwhelming, especially if you have little or no master scheduling experience. This three-day virtual workshop will provide the necessary basics, including:
- Identification of essential “non-negotiable” components.
- Realistic and necessary timelines.
- A step-by-step, practical method for creating a schedule that provides course selection equity.
- Interactive sessions designed for you to practice scheduling concepts with real numbers.
