The Walnut Valley USD Board of Trustees has appointed Matthew Brummett as the new assistant principal at Diamond Bar High School. Brummett brings a total of nine years of educational experience to his new post, with eight of those years at Diamond Bar High. Brummett stepped in as the school’s interim assistant principal during the summer. Prior to that, he worked as assistant principal at Suzanne Middle School for one year. Brummett succeeds former assistant principal David Hong who accepted a position as Director of AP Environmental Science with College Board.
The South Santa Barbara ACSA Charter, representing Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, Montecito, Goleta, Hope and Cold Spring school districts, announces the following new hires, promotions and retirements: In the Santa Barbara County Education Office, new hires are Bridget Baublits as Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services; Sharon Brown as Coordinator, College and Career Readiness; Cleo Carrasco as Coordinator, College and Career Readiness; Kirsten Escobedo as Assistant Superintendent, Special Education; Linda Garza as Coordinator, Special Education Programs; Susan Nielsen as Coordinator, Special Education Programs; Allison Steinmann as Coordinator, Special Education Programs; Rachel Fauver has been promoted to Director, School and District Support; Cathy Breen has retired as Assistant Superintendent, Special Education after 25 years with SBCEO; Kathy Gulje has retired as Director, Special Education Programs after 19 years with SBCEO; and Kathy Hollis has retired as Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services after 10 years with SBCEO. In Cold Spring School District, Yuri Calderon has been hired as Chief Business Officer/Legal Counsel. In Goleta School District, new hires are Sucari Epps as Coordinator of Special Education; Julie Bolton as Principal; Kim Bruzesse has been promoted to Director of Instructional Services; Ryan Sparre has been promoted to Coordinator of @Afterschool; Celeste Darga has been promoted to Principal; and Regina Davis has been promoted to Principal. In Hope School District, Barbara LaCorte has become Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, having previously served as Principal of Hope School, and will retire after 18 years on Jan. 1, 2020; Liz Barnitz has been hired as Principal, Hope School. At the Santa Barbara Unified School District, new hires are Elena Garcia-Yoshitomi as Principal of McKinley; Jennifer Foster as Principal, La Colina Jr. High; Edward Gomez as Dean of Student Engagement, La Colina; Bradley Brock as Principal, La Cumbre Jr. High; Dare Holdren as Assistant Principal, DPHS; Marshall Webb as Dean of Student Engagement, DPHS; Kip Glazer as Principal, SMHS; Analese Alvarez as Dean of Student Engagement, SMHS; Daniel Dupont as Assistant Principal, SBHS; Cailean Villasenor as Assistant Principal, SBHS; Stephanie Henderson as Assistant Principal, DPHS; Denise Granger as Assistant Principal (elementary); Valerie Galindo as Assistant Principal (elementary); Camilla Barnwell as Public Information Officer; Tiffany Carson as Coordinator, CTE; Daisy Ochoa as Coordinator Early Childhood Education; Kathy Serrano as Coordinator After School Program; Ann Peak as Director, Human Resources; Kelly Moore as Safety Manager, Student Services; Fernando Garcia-Reyes as Project Manager, M & O; Jose Jimenez as Facilities Supervisor, M & O; and Armando Uribe as Program Facilitator, Special Education.
