The Walnut Valley USD Board of Trustees unanimously approved Jason Eldridge as the new Castle Rock Elementary principal during the Jan. 21 meeting.
The standout school leader brings over 20 years of educational experience, all in the Corona-Norco USD, to his new post.
Eldridge has served as assistant principal at Garretson Elementary and Rosa Parks Elementary Schools for the past six years.
Prior to that, he was a student advisor at Dr. Augustine Ramirez Intermediate School and an elementary and middle school classroom teacher for 14 years.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University and master’s degree in Educational Administration from National University.
Eldridge’s wife, Beth, is an elementary school teacher, and they have two children.
He succeeds Jen Alcazer who accepted a position as director of Human Resources in the Upland Unified School District.
Retired director of Educational Services (and former Castle Rock principal) Jackie Brown has served as interim principal at Castle Rock since November.
Eldridge will begin duties on February 1.
The Palmdale School District would like to congratulate the following employees on their promotion: Kathya Arriaran-Buono has been promoted from Assistant Principal of Buena Vista to Principal, Genaro Anaya has been hired as District Chef, and Emidio Garcia has been promoted from Accounting/Data Processing Technician to Student Services Supervisor.
