Transitions
March 1, 2021
Kim Lawe has transitioned from Corona-Norco Unified School District, after serving 10.5 years as Director of Eastvale STEM Academy, to a position at Riverside County Office of Education as Director in Educational Services, which serves 23 school districts including CNUSD.
The Stockton Unified School District is excited to announce the appointment of John Ramirez, Jr. as Interim Superintendent. Ramirez was appointed at the Feb. 9, 2021 Board of Trustees Meeting.
Ramirez brings to SUSD more than 25 years of administrative excellence and a long list of administrative accolades and accomplishments. His groundbreaking work in educational equity — including 1:1 technology initiative, free meal distribution and labor management initiatives — resulted in transformative development and growth at his hometown school district, Alisal Union School District, where he served from 2010-2016.
Ramirez’s journey began in the ag fields of the Salinas Valley, where as a child he worked with his parents to help support the household. A product of the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, Ramirez holds an M.Ed. in Human Development and Education. He completed his undergraduate work at Santa Clara University, where he later returned to serve as an Adjunct Professor.
