Daniel Morris has been announced as the new principal of Edison High School. Morris comes to Edison from Huntington Beach High School, where he has served as principal for the last eight years.
With his bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton, and his master’s from Alliant University, Morris has been in education for 25 years, with over 15 years as an instrumental member of the Huntington Beach Union High School District. He’s returning to EHS, where he started his career in 2006 as an assistant principal for four years. Throughout his years within HBUHSD, Morris has also been an assistant principal at Huntington Beach Adult School, Coast High School and Marina High School. While he moved to Irvine Unified School District as the Director of Alternative Education for two years, Morris returned to HBUHSD in 2015 and has played an integral role as the principal of HBHS ever since.
Without fail, Morris has always put his students and staff above all else, emphasizing the importance of fostering a positive and thriving school culture. He has been recognized for his leadership by receiving the 2021 ACSA Region 17 Secondary Principal of the Year award, the 2022 PTSA Outstanding Administrator Award, and the 2023 Arts Administrator Award from the Orange County Music and Arts Administrators.
