Monterey County Superintendent of Schools Deneen Guss recently announced that Brett W. McFadden has been appointed Deputy Superintendent of the Monterey County Office of Education effective July 1, 2022. McFadden has been the superintendent of the Nevada Joint Union High School District since 2018. McFadden is returning to the Monterey Bay area where he and his wife Marci McFadden (Chief of Communications and Public Engagement for the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District and former ACSA Region 10 president) have a home and raised their two boys in Aptos, Calif. Previously, McFadden was the Associate Superintendent for Business Services at Monterey Peninsula USD and the Chief Business Officer for Pajaro Valley Unified School District in Watsonville, Calif.
