Mike Reed will join Solana Beach School District as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources beginning July 1, 2023. Reed brings over 23 years of experience working in an array of roles within public education, including having served the past seven years as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources within two separate school districts. Prior to that, Reed held the position of Director of Human Resources for three years, elementary school principal for 13 years, and classroom teacher for seven years prior.
SBSD welcomes Reed’s strong belief in relationships, collaboration, collective problem solving, and an understanding of the role of Human Resources as the conscience of the organization. Reed’s expertise is a direct result of his dedication to excel in his role, on behalf of students. Reed’s professional skills allow him to generate and lead creative, inclusive solutions and practices that retain, develop, and recruit educators in alignment with the district’s mission and vision.
