The Redlands Unified School District Board of Education has announced the approval of Rudy Wilson as the new Assistant Superintendent of Compliance. Wilson brings a wealth of experience in education administration, compliance accountability and leadership to this crucial role.
Wilson joins the Redlands Unified School District from the Desert Sands Unified School District, where he most recently served as the Senior Director of Personnel Services and Resolution & Compliance Officer. In this capacity, he managed all aspects of Title IX compliance, Uniform Complaint Procedures, personnel complaints, and formal and informal complaint resolution processes.
With over three decades of experience in education, Wilson has held various leadership positions, including Principal at La Quinta High School and Summit High School/Horizon, as well as Assistant Principal roles at multiple schools. His diverse background encompasses alternative education, turnaround programs and specialized academies.
Wilson earned his Doctorate in Educational & Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne. He also holds a master’s degree in Educational Administration, administrative services credential, single-subject teaching credential, and a bachelor’s degree in architecture.
In his new role, Wilson will oversee districtwide compliance efforts, conduct sensitive administrative investigations, and provide training on model compliance procedures. He will also serve as a key liaison between district staff, school sites, parents and community members. He will lead the Redlands Unified School District in ensuring full compliance with the provisions set forth in the Stipulated Judgment and Resolution Agreement with the California Department of Justice and the Office for Civil Rights.
On May 8, 2024, Paula Hart Rodas was appointed as the Superintendent of Schools for the Monrovia Unified School District. Hart Rodas is a dedicated, forward-thinking, and resourceful educational professional with 28 years of service in Southern California public schools. She has a proven track record of developing environments that encourage open communication with colleagues, students, and the community and cultivating a culture that supports continuous improvement.
Through her various roles, Hart Rodas has worked to foster practices that promote the academic, social and emotional growth of students, and mentors others in the establishment and implementation of equitable, inclusive, and engaging opportunities for all students to meet their diverse needs and interests.
Hart Rodas previously served as Director of Secondary Educational Services for the Monrovia Unified School District, a position she held since 2022. She has also served as Principal of Lawndale High School, Associate Principal of Leuzinger High School, Vice Principal and Director of Athletics for Mira Costa High School, and Vice Principal of Manhattan Beach Middle School. Prior to becoming a school administrator, she taught a variety of science courses in grades seven through 12, as well as at the junior college level. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to fostering environments that prioritize open communication, continuous improvement and holistic student growth.
A lifelong athlete, Hart Rodas has devoted considerable time in her personal and professional life toward developing and sustaining school-based programs that support school connectedness and improved outcomes for students, such as athletics, activities and social-emotional support programs.
Hart Rodas has served in leadership roles for the California Interscholastic Federation, the statewide governing body for athletics in California high schools, for more than 10 years. Her involvement with CIF has been instrumental in shaping athletic opportunities for students statewide. She currently serves the California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section (CIF-SS) as President of the CIF-SS Executive Committee, while also serving the California Interscholastic Federation’s State Federated Council as the President-Elect of the State Executive Committee. Additionally, in March 2024, Hart Rodas was recognized as Woman of the Year by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and Commission for Women for her work in advancing athletics opportunities for girls in California.
Hart Rodas holds an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Marymount College, Palos Verdes; a Bachelor of Science in Medical Microbiology from California State University, Long Beach; a Master of Arts in Multicultural Education from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership, Administration, and Policy from Pepperdine University where she focused her dissertation research on teacher preparation programs.
