The Chula Vista Elementary School District partnered with the City of Chula Vista to host a recent COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Harborside Elementary School.
All 151 shots went into arms during the city’s first mobile vaccination clinic, which was held from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, April 23.
The city launched “Operation Immunity,” a mobile COVID-19 vaccination unit, to provide vaccinations to hard-to-reach populations in Chula Vista. This vaccine distribution opportunity focused on grandparents raising grandchildren, kinship family caregivers and other individuals over age 50.
Those who came expressed thanks and appreciation for the vaccination clinic, which was a partnership of CVESD, City of Chula Vista, Chula Vista Fire Department and many volunteers and school staff. Local media outlets, including a Spanish-language newspaper, were among those that covered the event.
Social media posts included the hashtag #VaccinesSaveLives.
