Hundreds of school administrators looking to fuel their career growth are expected to enroll in the 2022-23 ACSA Academy Program, which officially launched on June 1.
This year will feature 28 cohorts in 10 leadership specializations:
  • Access & Equity for English Learners
  • Co-Administrators
  • Curriculum & Instructional Leaders
  • Equity Administrators
  • Personnel Administrators
  • Principals
  • Pupil Services
  • School Business
  • Special Education
  • Superintendents
Each academy provides a solid foundation of training in the application of leadership and management fundamentals. Participants experience 70 to 100 hours of high-quality instruction by expert Academy Directors and presenters during 7 to 10 weekends throughout the school year. Academy cohorts will begin convening in late August, with remaining cohorts starting in September and early October. Cohorts are limited to 30 registrants, so signing up early is encouraged.
Those who participate in the ACSA Academy Program distinguish themselves as educational leaders who intentionally seek to grow in their professional knowledge, skills and connections. They will engage in professional learning and networking with fellow educational leaders statewide.
“ACSA plans academies with maximum benefit for participants to be actively engaged in their professional development,” said ACSA Academy Program Executive Mary Gomes. “Participants are eager to share and apply their learning, to expand their professional networks and to earn their Academy Certificate of Completion at the end of the academy year.”
While academies will continue to meet predominantly online, to optimize statewide participation, program meeting formats have been expanded to include an extended Academy Weekend format for Co-Administrators (Thursday PM and Saturday AM/PM). In addition, five cohorts of the Personnel Administrators, Pupil Services, Special Education and Superintendents academies will meet in a hybrid format including 2-4 designated in-person Saturdays.
According to one previous participant: “ACSA is such a supportive organization. I am so happy to hear that there will still be virtual options for ’22-23, so I can participate in another one next year. I’m looking forward to new learning already.”
Academy Directors and presenters are committed to delivering an in-depth professional learning experience that supports a culture for professional learning and networking, and makes learning meaningful for themselves and fellow participants. ACSA is grateful and honored to be an integral part of participants’ professional learning, networking, and career advancement.
Those who have participated in the ACSA Academy Program know why it’s an unparalleled learning opportunity. Here’s just some of what these former participants have been saying:
  • “Thank you for providing such an enriching academy experience and can’t wait to participate in a future academy.”
  • “This academy was well worth my time. I feel I am walking away better informed and prepared to grow in my position.”
  • “I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed the ACSA Personnel Academy! It was such a valuable learning opportunity as I move forward in my career.”
  • “I truly enjoyed the academy and have learned so much. I look forward to using this knowledge in the future as I advance my HR career.”
  • “Thank you and all at ACSA again for the amazing academy. I learned so much and am grateful for the wealth of information and cohort of resources!”
