ACSA is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, as well as the 25th anniversary of the Every Student Succeeding program. Since 1996, ESS has honored hundreds of students at the charter, region and state levels, students who inspire the educators and communities supporting them with their bravery and resilience.

We established this program because our association believes every student deserves equal opportunities to succeed. On every school day throughout California, courageous students overcome tremendous obstacles to reach their goals. Their success is our success; their powerful stories are our inspiration.

Each year, ACSA recognizes 19 pre-K-12 students, one from each geographic region, as well as two adult education students, for overcoming the odds with grace, strength and determination.
